Javier Smilovici

Solomon Smilovici (Rumania) and Rachel Wishnack (Russia) brought Javier Issac Smilovici into the world on July 11, 1949 in Mexico City, Mexico.

Javier received his Bachelors degree in Business Administration in 1972.

While studying at the University Anahuac, Javier was already pursuing his love for jewelry. His first business D'ORSA started in 1970 in a small shop in downtown Mexico City. In 1973 with the success of D'ORSA he partnered with one of the largest diamond importers Max Seligson in Mexico City. In 1974 they became the largest importers of emeralds, rubies and sapphires.

Having been successful in the wholesale market Javier & Max next decision was to open a retail store in the southern part of Mexico City. The store was a great success and in 1979 Max Seligson retired and left the business to Javier.

In 1981 due to Mexico's economic situation Javier decided to close the store and move to the United States. Having visited San Antonio as a child it was an easy decision for him to pick San Antonio to open a new retail store with fine jewelry.

In 1982 “Bracaletti's” had it's grand opening in the Colonnade Center in north San Antonio. Javier also opened Dia-Coin International to market fine coins. Both business were a success.

In 2006 Javier made the decision to leave the City life and moved his business and himself to the Texas Hill Country in Boerne Texas.
